Safety Recall Notice – 27 August 2024

As two moms who set out to create the best and safest products for our kids and all young eaters, we hold our products to the highest standards. Our products are rigorously tested to ensure we provide our consumers with safe products to bring magic to mealtimes.

After receiving feedback on a limited number of silicone spoons, Melii Baby Inc. is issuing a voluntary recall of select Silicone Spoons manufactured between December 2023 and May 2024 with the below model numbers.

Models 22000, 22010, 60044, 40110, 40111, 70057, 70058, 70059, 70060, 70061, 70062

3 Pack of Silicone Spoons with model numbers 40110, 40111 and date code 2024-01.

4 Pack of Silicone Spoons with model numbers 22000, 22010 and date codes 2023-12 to 2024-‍05.

Spoons in Packaged Sets from Aldi with model numbers 70057, 70058, 70059, 70060, 70061, 70062 and date codes 2023-03 to 2024-06.

A piece of the silicone tip of the spoon can potentially break off and could pose a potential choking hazard. There has been no reported harm or injury, but because safety is our highest priority, we are working closely with the U.S. CPSC and Health Canada to voluntarily recall these products in an abundance of caution. All of our silicone spoons meet all regulatory requirements, and no other Melii products are affected

Recalled Product: Silicone Animal Spoons 4 pack, Silicone Spoons 3 pack, Melii Luxe 3 pack Silicone Spoons. Production date can be found on the back of the spoons.

For example: Production clocks indicating dates 2023-12, 2024-01, 2024-02, 2024-03, 2024-04, 2024-05

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the spoons immediately and contact Melii Baby Inc. for a replacement.

Melii, a trusted mom-owned and run brand, is committed to the safety and well-being of the families we serve. After being made aware of 1 incident where the end of the silicone spoon had broken off, we immediately began the process of a voluntary recall. While this was an isolated incident, we took immediate and comprehensive action to address the situation.
Our Animal Silicone Spoons have undergone rigorous quality testing and meets the highest toy safety standards. This product is sold in the United States, Canada and Latin America and has been thoroughly tested to ensure it meets all safety requirements. Despite this, we immediately reported the issue to both the Canada and US health departments and have voluntarily recalled all SKUs that could potentially be affected.
As a mom-owned, women-run company, we understand the importance of providing safe, reliable products for children. The safety of our products is our top priority, and we are working diligently to ensure that this situation is rectified. To this end, we have resubmitted the Animal Silicone Spoons for additional testing with Health Canada and the US health departments, and we are pleased to report that it has passed all required safety tests.
Melii is committed to doing everything necessary to maintain the trust of our customers. We deeply regret any inconvenience this issue may have caused and want to reassure all parents that we are taking this matter very seriously. Our priority is, and always will be, the safety and satisfaction of the families who use our products.
Please note that the spoons are the only items affected by this voluntary recall. No other Melii items are impacted by this recall.
